The 4th Meeting of the AEWA European Goose Management International Working Group took place on 18-20 June 2019 in Perth, Scotland, the United Kingdom, at the kind invitation of Scottish Natural Heritage.

The Battleby conference centre is located in the countryside, a few kilometres north of the city of Perth in Scotland, the United Kingdom.
Perth is north of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city. Perth has a population of around 47.000. The native language is English.
Meals
Lunches will be provided for all participants on all meeting days (17 June for TF meeting participants and 18-20 June for participants to the EGM IWG4). Lunch will be served in the venue.
Coffee and tea will be available from 08:30 onwards and there will also be refreshments in the morning and afternoon during coffee breaks for all meeting days.
An event, kindly hosted by Scottish Natural Heritage, will be offered on Tuesday, 18 June, after the meeting to take place in "The Royal George" hotel.
Travel will be to Edinburgh Airport (https://www.edinburghairport.com) or Glasgow Airport (https://www.glasgowairport.com) and onwards to Perth by train (ca. 2-2.5 hours from either airport depending on connection).
Transport to and from Perth to the Battleby Conference Centre will be provided in the mornings and evenings after the end of the conference with pick-up and drop-off locations in Perth. More information on the free shuttle will be provided at a later stage.
Perth is relatively small and much of it can be explored on foot. Buses are however available. Tickets can be purchased in the bus.

A&B Taxis also offer transport to and from Edinburgh and Glasgow Airport, including for small groups. Booking in advance with considerable notice is necessary.
Shuttle
Transport from Perth to the conference venue in Battleby and back will kindly be organized by Scottish Natural Heritage as the host of the meeting.
The shuttle ("Docherty's" bus line) will pick up from three hotels in Perth in the below order in the morning and drop off in reverse order in the evening.

- New County Hotel
- The Royal George
Perth is quite small, and distances are not too long, so participants staying in other accommodations will be able to walk to the pick-up/drop-off points.

Shuttles will depart after the end of the conference each day back to Perth.
On Tuesday, 18 June, transport to Perth is provided after the meeting around 18:00 to allow participants to go back to the hotel before the dinner at 20:00 and make their own way to the dinner venue.

Please note, that no hotel rooms will be booked by the AEWA Secretariat for participants; both funded and non-funded delegates are kindly requested to make their own hotel reservations.
We would like to urge you to make your hotel reservation as soon as possible; in the summer season, Perth attracts lots of visitors, so hotels can fill up.
